Palace of culture and Science
Modern Warsaw and it’s skyscrapers… Surprising to know that in WWII, 2/3 of the population was killed and 80% of the city was destoryed by the Nazis in revenge for the 1944 Warsaw Uprising.
Namiestnikowski Palace, built inthe second half of the 17th century. It belonged to various Poliash aristocratic families and is now the presidential Palace.
Mickiewicz Monument was erected in 1898 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Poland’s greatest poet
St John’s Cathedral. Warsaw’s oldest Church.
Warszawa Syrenka, Statue of Warsaw Mermaid. According to legend, a merchant kidnapped the mermaid from the Wisla River, but local fisherman rescued her. In return, she swore to defend the city and now protects Warsaw with her shield and raised sword. Haha…
